Fluid ConditioningAs heat transfer fluids deteriorate over time there is a build up of VOCs which has an adverse effect on the flammability of the fluid, lowering the flash and fire points to potentially unsafe levels. The sampling and analysis of the fluid is a requirement within the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR). It is a requirement to demonstrate through a risk assessment the safety parameters that the fluid needs to comply with. The fluid must either then be conditioned or changed when the fluid falls out of specification. HTS has been developing highly effective fluid conditioning systems since 1998 culminating in the 2010 launch of HTfluidfit, a revolutionary approach to the removal of VOCs and the maintenance of fluids at their optimum condition. HTfluidfit has the potential to extend fluid life by a factor of 10 or more resulting in significant savings compared with fluid replacement, particularly taking into account the elimination of system down-time. |
